Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Buffalo, New York. This role involves a variety of responsibilities related to financial procedures, including preparing and reviewing financial statements, processing transactions, maintaining records, and providing financial forecasts. This position is integral to ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) within our organization.Responsibilities: Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and records to ensure accuracy Oversee compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in all accounting procedures Process financial transactions, such as accounts payable and receivable, and verify invoice payments Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing advice on general finance matters when necessary Maintain and update financial data in databases to ensure accurate financial records Prepare and submit weekly or monthly reports as required Present reports to management on a regular basis Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger duties Participate in month-end close processes. Requirements Minimum of five years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations. Demonstrated experience in performing Bank Reconciliations. Solid understanding of General Ledger management. Experience in Month End Close procedures. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification would be a plus.
