Description We are searching for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in the non-profit industry, based in Great Neck, New York. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity, where you will be largely responsible for various accounting duties, such as analyzing revenues, managing accounts receivable, and preparing financial statements. Responsibilities: Analyze revenue streams to ensure accuracy and completeness Manage and maintain the accounts receivable function, ensuring all receivables are timely collected and recorded Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the correctness of bank statements Prepare financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and regulations Conduct account analysis to identify and rectify any discrepancies Execute various accounting operations, including AR/Billing Ensure all financial operations align with the policies and regulations of the non-profit industry Maintain up-to-date, thorough knowledge of accounting principles and industry trends Perform other accounting duties as required, ensuring all financial data is accurate and timely reported.Requirements Candidate must possess skills in Financial Statement Preparation Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary Ability to Analyze Revenues effectively is required Proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential Prior experience in a non-profit organization will be advantageous Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines Familiarity with accounting software would be beneficial Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles Must have a high level of integrity and dependability Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
