Summer Spanish Educator

Open Doors English (ODE) summer Spanish educators provide Spanish language instruction to adults for a eight week summer session from June 30th-August 21st. They deliver Spanish instruction that is appropriate and accessible across the communicative modalities of reading, writing, listening, & speaking, with an emphasis on speaking and listening. ODE summer Spanish educators are hired on an as needed basis. Hours and schedule are determined by the ODE co-directors. Summer positions are 3 or 4 hours of instruction with 1.5 or 2 hours paid prep time per week. Wage: $25/hour.

Duties and Responsibilities of ODE Summer Educators:

prepare for and provide Spanish instruction that is appropriate and accessible for students

monitor students’ progress and modify instruction accordingly

provide a positive, supportive learning environment with high expectations for students

maintain class records (attendance)

attend staff meetings

maintain open and clear communication with ODE co-directors and colleagues
