Systems Integration Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:

The Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and technical support of the Company's portfolio of computer system integrations, including on-premises and cloud-based applications. In this role they will use batch and real-time Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) as well as Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes to keep data in-sync between enterprise applications and to ensure data integrity across those systems.

Responsibilities of the Systems Integration Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:
  • Designs, develops, tests, implements, maintains, and supports integrations between the Company's information systems;
  • Catalogs, upgrades, and manages an existing portfolio of integrations;
  • Creates and maintains technical specifications and documentation about integrations;
  • Develops and refines organizational integration strategy;
  • Maintains knowledge of the Company's enterprise software offerings, in particular those APIs and systems that are essential for seamless communications;
  • Assists in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new software systems and services with specific focus as to how they might integrate with other Company systems;
  • Plans and implements integration testing during software and infrastructure upgrade cycles;
  • Maintains awareness of current practices and future trends in application integration technology and best practices;
  • Provides training and knowledge transfer to developers, project managers, and other staff and consultants;
  • Contributes to and participates in data cataloging efforts;
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Desired Skills of the Systems Integration Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, Perl, Bash, or other scripting languages; Knowledge of integration middleware such as Azure Data Factory, MuleSoft Anypoint, Oracle Data Integration, Dell Boomi, Jitterbit, or SnapLogic;
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts and design principles.
  • Knowledge of common types of connectivity solutions (FTP/Secure FTP), VPN and different file formats (fixed length, delimited, XML, JSON, X12) used in application integrations.
  • Skilled in understanding of issues surrounding data security and best practices for balancing availability with security;
