Systems Support Specialist - New York, NY - Full time perm $65-70K plus $5K bonusThe Systems Support Specialist is responsible ensuring that all batch processing and vendor files are processed in a timely manner 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, the Systems Operations Specialist will also be responsible for deploying and patching 800 + physical and virtual computers, supporting the help desk with daily troubleshooting/ticket management, and be a part of the overnight support rotation / on call.Primary Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for the entire batch processing environments in development, pre-production, production, etc.2. Reaches out to vendors for files which are late, inaccurate, or missing to obtain status and obtain quick remedy.3. Responsible for application updates to the batch processing environments on both the server and desktops.4. Periodic review of other batch processing applications to ensure the firm using the best technology.5. Maintain a service level agreement with the business, while maintaining a reasonable response to resolution as part of this associate’s goals.6. Assist with the security patching process on 800+ desktop computers firm wide.7. Assist with various help desk tickets on desktop computers, printers, audio visual systems, and mobile devices. Document and troubleshoot issues/problems to resolution.8. Answer phones, e-mail, and web tickets for desktop support related tasks.

9. Complete technical projects, implementations, training, while creating adoption throughout the firm.10. Documentation of policies, procedures, and knowledgebase articles as needed. 11. Provides afterhours support & 24x7 coverage for both the helpdesk and computer operations teams.12. Performs related duties as assigned.Preferred Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required2. Must be detail oriented3. A+ or Network+ certification preferred4. Batch processing and server experience preferred5. 2-5 years of desktop troubleshooting experience required6. Must have a good knowledge and understanding of computer hardware and software environments and related systems.7. Must be able to interact effectively with end usersTechnologies/Notes:• VMWare and Citrix is used for the virtual environments. • They will set up AV equipment at times as well. • They have 350 users. • Windows based shop• No Linux• User administration is a plus• PowerShell is a nice to have. • BS degree s a nice to have• He does not want to see contractors or people with short stints on the resume. • Analytical thinker• They will be 50/50 between desktop support and computer operations. • They are using Active Batch for processing. They process 1800-2000 files from Wells Fargo, Merrill Lynch, etc. They will be responsible for timely responses on active batches. • They need to be very polished since they are personal support for the CEO. • They will be setting up new phones on the front end by adding them to the system and putting them on the desk. They are using Cisco Call Manager and remote offices they use a cloud based solution.
