Full-time (1.0 FTE), 7-hour day, 10-month, school calendar position

Provide juniors and seniors with rigorous and engaging classroom instruction, project-based learning, and hands-on skills that would prepare students to be college and career ready in the Auto Tech industry

Prepare students for the national assessment in ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) student certification in Maintenance and Light Repair

Collaborate with counterpart Auto Tech instructors on the direction of the program

Needs to understand current automotive electronic systems

Monitor students’ academic progress including, but not limited to progress/marking period grades, attendance, hands-on performance skills

Implement 504 plans and IEP's (Individualized Education Plans) for students with diverse learning needs

Keep current with changes and developments in the Auto Tech industry

Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, home school counselors and all others involved with the education of all students

Maintain discipline in the classroom and work sites

Uphold the BOCES Values: Service, Collaboration, Leadership, and Integrity

Carry out all other duties as assigned

Job QualificationsValid NYS Certification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Occupations 7-12

Extensive experience with Auto Tech is required

Ability to handle heavy lifting

Experience, willingness, and ability to work with secondary students in both classroom and various hands-on settings

Excellent communication skills and work ethic
