Technical Business Analyst, Consultant

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Technical Business Analyst for a Consultant assignment with one of our premier Boutique Investment Banking clients in New York, NY Must be onsite 3 days per week. Position Summary: The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for helping to design, develop, and deploy business-facing technology solutions across the Firm. The role requires a solid understanding of business requirements documentation and software development processes. This position will work closely with the business technology team in a highly collaborative manner to interface with the bankers as well as key stakeholder groups. Establishing and maintaining good relationships through strong communication is of high importance, as this role involves leading meetings with Bankers, Compliance officers, Business Management professionals, vendors, and Information Technology personnel. A successful applicant should be able to work independently on specific projects and workstreams utilizing the following skills: analytical mindset, technical knowledge, UX design, organization, communication, self-motivation, inquisitiveness, and attention to detail. Essential Functions: 1. Be part of a business technology team responsible for owning and executing delivery of custom solutions that are uniquely tailored to the business' needs. 2. Help to engage with stakeholders at all levels to understand the business objectives and functional requirements necessary to perform their roles efficiently and effectively. 3. Help to elicit, capture and interpret business problems from multiple perspectives; present implications and recommendations with strategic perspective, influencing project parameters and outcomes. 4. Assist in requirements gathering, solution design, functionality development, user acceptance testing, training, and deployment. 5. Develop requirements, write user stories, and design user interfaces of any new functionality that can be understood and built by the development team. 6. Understand the data model and architecture, and define data structures to enable new system functionality. 7. Evaluate the suitability of existing/potential tools to fulfill business needs. 8. Closely collaborate with Business Management, Information Technology, and outside vendors to develop and implement new applications and tools for use by the business. Skills & Characteristics: The Technical Business Analyst is a logical thinker with mature interpersonal skills and well developed verbal and written capabilities. Able to deliver high quality work under time pressure, and is comfortable interacting with multiple teams. The Technical Business Analyst possesses the following knowledge and skills: 1. Strong knowledge of Business Analysis, Software Development, Project Management, and Data Management skillset. 2. Experience translating business needs into detailed technical specifications for application development. 3. Experience designing user interfaces, with experience using Balsamiq (or another UI design tool) a plus. 4. High level understanding of code to collaborate with developers to design new solutions and provide support. First-hand knowledge of development is beneficial. 5. Familiar with data model management processes and best practices. 6. Experience with User Acceptance Testing and quality assurance. 7. Strong knowledge of software development and implementation/deployment lifecycle and best practices. 8. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation. 9. Excellent organization and documentations skills, with the ability to design and facilitate a group process, elicit contributions, stimulate focused discussions and achieve a desired outcome; consensus builder. 10. Hands-on experience with on-premise and cloud-based enterprise systems; Knowledge of how to design, manage, and integrate these systems to support current and future business needs. Education & Experience: 1. Successful candidates will be self-motivated with a strong desire to contribute to the success of the department and company. 2. 3-5 years of advisory investment banking technology relevant experience preferred. 3. Experience with Agile Development methodologies. 4. Experience designing or building Salesforce solutions preferred. 5.
