Our well-known and well-respected global financials client is looking to add a consultant to their team in the capacity of Project Manager / Business Analyst, Data Management. In this role, you will assist in advancing the technical capabilities for Data Management and Reporting by managing, directing, and overseeing various projects across multiple functions in Credit, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Corporate business. This is a long-term contract role that operates on a hybrid schedule out of their New York City office.
Responsibilities:- Partner with developers and business analysts across technology to understand and document reporting and analytic needs, produce technical plans and collaborate with the development teams to implement dashboards and reports
- Contribute to the development of the technology strategy and manage complex project through design and implementation
- Actively manage stakeholders' expectations, resource alignment, and possible conflicting priorities across the projects
- Lead scope definition and communication sessions. Utilize negotiation skill sets to drive the project team and stakeholders to make timely decisions and deliver projects on schedule and within budget
- Partner with technical architects to ensure technical models are aligned with business models
- Communicate reports regarding project status, risk management and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in the team
- Develop end-user training materials and deliver training to a broad user base
- Proven track record in defining and driving data strategies
- Experience working with data warehouses and business intelligence platforms
- Knowledge and experience with SQL, Excel VBA & Macros, Reporting best practices
- Knowledge and experience with Snowflake/Synapse, Tableau/Power BI is desired
- Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Lineage and Data Quality processes is desired
- Deep understanding of capital markets
- Knowledge of financial instruments. (Bank Loans, Bonds, Derivatives, etc.)
- Private Equity / Real Estate knowledge is desired
- Experience with fund accounting platforms (SunGard VPM, PAM etc.) is preferred
- Experience with security data set - Bloomberg, Rating agencies etc. is preferred
- Understanding of the various performance measures (IRR, ROE, Yield, etc.) is a plus
- 10+ years industry full cycle experience of SDLC methodologies and approaches, including refining business requirements and defining functional specifications
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and to deliver multiple projects on time and within budget
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
