TIG Welder / Fabricator

We are a Brooklyn-based multi-disciplinary design-build and fabrication studio, with a focus on architectural and ornamental metal fabrication. We are seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join our team. This position will report directly to the Shop Manager.

Candidates must excel in high-end architectural metal fabrication, ornamental metalwork, and or metal sculpture/art fabrication, and be able to operate all standard workshop machinery. Strong on-site / installation skills are required.

Skills and Abilities

Qualified candidates will possess the following skills/qualifications:

+ Minimum 5 years of experience

+ Excels at all types of welding (TIG, MIG, SMAW)

+ Familiarity with Laser Welding is a plus

+ Machining on manual vertical mill and lathe

+ Ability to read and interpret shop drawings

+ Fine metal finishing and application of patina/chemical finishes

+ Ability to manage your own time while also directing helpers on various tasks to assist you

+ Valid DL, SST, G35, F60, G60

In addition to the above qualifications, conceptual working knowledge of the following is also helpful:

+ CNC Press brake operation

+ CNC Laser and Router operation

+ 2d and 3d CAD/CAM software

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Type: Full-Time, permanent

Hourly Rate: $25-$45 commensurate with experience and qualifications

Expected Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week

Working hours: Mondaythrough Friday, weekends as needed
