  • Incumbent is a VMWare Horizon and Windows SME, with comprehensive knowledge of VMWare EUC platforms,
  • Windows user environments and Microsoft RDS.
  • Duties include design, engineer, automate and maintain daily remote access technologies.
  • The professionals must be capable manage performance and rectify any errors that occur within the virtual desktop environment.
  • Partner and collaborate with Enterprise Security to understand and implement security standards to our VDI environment.
  • Optimize and automate solutions for management and deployment of VDI applications, operating systems, updates, and configuration changes.
  • They should have proficiency in ITIL and other IT operations frameworks.
  • The professional should be able to provide all the necessary support for VDI and RDS.
  • Role does not require travel but may require work outside of customary business hours and/or on-call rotation.
Skills / Experience:
  • 5+ years with configuration and support of VMWare Horizon and Microsoft Windows products and technologies.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and interoperability with various network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, VMware ESXi operating systems.
  • Knowledge of information security techniques to maintain a secure and efficient work environment.
  • Working knowledge of network tools, such as, Visio, Wireshark, etc.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of MS SQL databases.
  • Ability to communicate with other employees in the company in both technical and non-technical roles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analyzes and evaluates major system project requirements of considerable complexity requiring a thorough understanding of all parameters affecting and interfacing with the system.
  • Reviews user requirements and provides direction in the identification of problem and potential resolution.
  • Provides analytical support in the conceptualization, development and implementation of complex, multiple inter-linked systems.
  • Defines system objectives and prepares system design specifications to meet user requirements and satisfy interface problems.
  • Formulates logical statements of user requirements and develops solutions through application of systems and methods of engineering techniques.
  • Reviews alternate approaches and selects appropriate methodology.
  • Recommends corrections in technical applications and analysis.
  • Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Performs moderately complex systems modeling, simulation and analysis.

  • Processes high levels of expertise on products being supported and is knowledgeable of competitors products.
  • May act as a technical and business domain subject matter expert to other groups and to clients.
  • May research and resolve Level 3 support issues as required.
  • May work on billable engagements as required to meet current client requirements.
  • With minimum oversight, is capable of supervising a team of junior staff.
  • May participate in selling or promoting of additional services.
  • Identifies new services opportunities and ensures they are properly followed up to ensure closure.
  • Escalates product issues to Client Management when support staff is unable to resolve them.
  • Identifies documents and estimates (costs/revenue) opportunities for add-on services Attempts to reproduce reported problems, identify, and provide immediate workarounds to overcome problems.
  • Documents resolutions to reported problems.
  • Identifies product and documentation deficiencies and makes suggestions for improvement.
  • May analyze and resolve problems escalated from within the organization
  • Works with clients to define requirements for enhancement requests
  • Manages the qualification and assessment of clients expectations.
  • Acts as a subject-matter expert in one or part of a CMMi Process Area Applies CMMi compliant best practices and promotes continuous process improvement
  • May manage the design and implementation of CMMi-compliant processes and process improvements
  • May act as a technical and business domain subject-matter expert to other groups and to clients
  • Provides on the job training to junior staff of the Team
