Eligibility may vary.Position descriptionResponsible for understanding, educating, and promoting continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and Joint Commission (JC) readiness activities throughout the department. Provides education and consultation for quality improvement/safety teams, delivering educational methods and tools to achieve team or organizational goals. Individual is expected to continuously learn and apply new continuous improvement methodologies.QualificationsThe Value Creation Specialist position requires a bachelor's degree (or obtained within 12 months) in nursing, education, business/health-related field (the health-related fields might include radiography, ultrasound or nuclear medicine) and the individual is required to have a minimum of three years of experience in their field. Quality Academy Bronze certification is required. Silver Certification is preferred and must be obtained within 12 months of hire date. The position requires strong communication, coaching, organization, project management, team-building, analytical, data analysis, and problem solving skills. Knowledge and demonstrated experience applying continuous quality/service level improvement concepts. In-depth understanding of human relations, group dynamics, change theory, and improvement methodologies. Knowledge of management principles and techniques, problem-solving methodologies and analytic techniques. Knowledge of basic statistics, data analysis and graphic displays of information. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as working knowledge of software such as: spreadsheets, graphics and word processing. Ability to independently manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities; must be capable of consulting and working collaboratively with a variety of individuals. Other abilities include flexibility, change agent, ability to provide encouragement, and stimulate innovative thinking under adverse conditions and short deadlines. Ability to work independently, utilizing basic office software such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Additional qualificationsGroup leadership and facilitation experience preferred. Knowledge and demonstrated experience in either: adult education, quality improvement methodologies, facilitation, patient safety or JC accreditation process is preferred.
