VDI Administrator This position is stationed in New York City supporting the bank’s Infrastructure function. As a member of the bank’s infrastructure group, this role is an integral part of all aspects within the end user compute and virtualization environment.

Job DescriptionWe are seeing a self-driven VDI Administrator who embraces enterprise desktop provisioning in a VMware Horizon non-persistent environment. This individual must maintain a working relationship with L1 and L2 support while working on their day-to-day tasks. This position will report to the architect of the VMware Horizon environment and have ample support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Be responsible for application packaging to support the end user computer environment for the bank
  • Maintain strategy for VDI OS, Physical OS, and HP Thin Clients OS
  • Manage VMware App Volumes for application packages deployed on VDI
  • Work with VMware Horizon View, UAG and vCenter
  • Provide packages for SCCM
  • Be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and planning of the company's desktop OS environment, including image creation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Work with Security teams to fine tune agents for performance and deployments
  • Have a knowledge of Powershell and other scripting
  • Maintain a working relationship with L1 and L2 support, addressing gaps in knowledge transfer where needed

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Expert administration/engineering skills in Windows 10 OS including but not limited to OS Imaging, performance tuning and build numbers
  • Working knowledge on OS imaging using tools such as Hashicorp, MDT, SCCM
  • Expert administration/implementation skills in Application Deployment tools (hashicorp, SCCM, PDQ) and MSIEXEC
  • Working knowledge of VDI technologies (VMware, Citrix, Microsoft)
  • Advanced knowledge in automating for Windows platforms leveraging PowerShell.
  • Advanced knowledge with Windows Group Policy to manage Windows 10Strong technical ability and outstanding troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Finance/Trading/Highly regulated sectors
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to execute procedures and follow established policy and procedure.
  • Must have outstanding communication and documentation skills
  • Must be able to learn various technology quickly and work in a fast paced environment
  • MCSE or equivalent a plus
  • VDI performance troubleshooting a plus
  • MDM platforms such as Blackberry/Good, Intune, Mobile Iron a plus
