Aladdin Wealth Enterprise - Data Engineering Lead - Vice President

We are growing our Product Engineering team and are looking for a dedicated, ambitious individual who can independently architect, develop, and deploy data engineering and automation solutions for a wide variety of business use cases. You will report directly to the Global Head of Enterprise Engineering for Aladdin Wealth Tech. Our engineering team spans the US, London, Singapore, and India, and we work directly with client-facing teams supporting live clients in over 15 countries.

Roles/responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead a small team of Data Engineers working primarily in Python, but with some R and Perl, as well
  • Be a hands-on engineer, developing and releasing code, yourself, and reviewing PRs from your team
  • Share knowledge and promote the professional growth of team members through teamwork and mentorship
  • Design and develop data engineering solutions using Python to solve business problems
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Implementation team to build robust and efficient data pipelines through automation
  • Work with other engineering team leads and partners to continuously improve operational processes and procedures
  • Design and develop data analysis tools to generate actionable insights based on customer and team generated requirements
  • Liaise with external parties and clients to determine appropriate data pipelines and deploy high quality code in mission-critical production environments
  • Continually improve the reliability, stability, and performance of production data engineering processes that power the product offering
  • Stay up-to-date with latest technologies to optimize the performance of the extract, transform and load process.
  • Beyond engineering, a successful candidate will always strive to learn the business context of their projects to quickly play a leading role in solving problems and driving decisions

Basic qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 4 years of professional experience including 2+ years managing, mentoring, and developing engineers
  • Strong Python, Unix, SQL skills
  • Experience architecting and deploying Python data processes in a production capacity
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction to complete tactical and strategic projects

Preferred qualifications:
  • Practical Data Science experience using Python or R
  • Experience with cloud platforms and deployments
  • Experience in the finance industry or knowledge of financial products/markets is a plus
