Role: VP Information Tech and Business Intelligence

Location:

Job type: Fulltime/PermanentThe Information Technology (IT) and Business Intelligence (BI) teams manage all of the technology that supports operations and serves as a resource to empower each department to innovate and improve the way they do their jobs. Reporting to the CFAO, the Vice President of Technology and Business Intelligence plans, coordinates, and directs all functions and all activities of the IT and BI Departments – including but not limited to infrastructure, security, system administration and development, network engineering, user satisfaction, policy development, asset governance and strategic direction. The Vice President of Technology and Business intelligence is responsible for the infrastructure oversight of all technical operations including coordination with MSD who we outsource the helpdesk and other IT functions to. As the Vice President of Technology and Business Intelligence, you will provide leadership and vision on the day-to-day IT and BI operations, including strategic changes to software, systems and process improvement initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

:
  • Lead the IT team as it manages the technology infrastructure that supports.
  • Lead the BI team as it manages both the data and systems to record and track pounds for all food rescued, procured and distributed.
  • Develop, execute, and manage day-to-day, annual, and long-term IT and BI plans
  • Lead an effective IT team of both in-house and outsources professionals.
  • Including Help Desk planning, trouble-shooting, documentation, resource allocation & escalation protocols.
  • Manage MSD resources and subject matter experts to ensure timely resolution and visioning for future maintenance and evolving the environment.
  • Create the process to manage and oversee the implementation and maintenance of all technology architecture and systems including servers, wired and wireless networks, backup, staff devices, software, printers and peripherals, remote access VPNs, VoIP phones, information security, web content filtering, and data warehousing.
  • Develop an extensive knowledge of the ERP, BPM, CRM, and BI systems that support fundraising, agency management, food rescue, inventory management (hardware, software and license compliance), and FP&A processes, working closely with designated business units to understand current technology challenges, develop and prioritize business requirements, put together proof of concept solutions, and manage ongoing projects.
  • Establish, administer, and communicate policies, document procedures, and craft strategic goals for IT and BI departments.
  • Supervise troubleshooting responses for any technical issues, including connectivity, computer hardware and software, printers, and applications, utilizing our helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Work with all departments to establish IT related needs and then establish priorities for systems design and implementation of new and/or modified systems. Develop schedules and milestones to track progress of technology implementation. Assess and recommend technology and consultant solutions.
  • Administer IT and BI purchasing and asset management and negotiate agreements and manage relationships and contracts with technology vendors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Develop and manage annual technology budgets and oversee grant processes and implementation.
  • Conduct security gap surveys and security risk assessments.
  • Create training materials and presentations to support such as:
  • Rolling out new features to overarching Microsoft Suite of products
  • Onboarding new staff
  • New business processes for asset requests
  • Annual Information Security training for staff

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
  • Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills and the ability to deliver work on assigned schedules.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels in a demanding environment.

  • PowerShell knowledge
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Administration including Office 365 and Sharepoint.
  • Microsoft InTune Administration.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENT:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of 10+ years’ experience and expertise in relevant areas
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in information technology, information systems, computer science with at least 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
  • 5+ years of team management experience leading, motivating, and developing a team.
  • Ideally have Microsoft (Azure) and/or Cisco certifications for Systems Administration.
  • Strong knowledge of technical project management, software development life cycle, agile methodology, user acceptance testing, and full-scope system testing
  • Strong knowledge of process mapping, business process reengineering, and change management
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted (for PC/Monitor deployment).
Ability to physically access wiring closets and above-ceiling wiring fixtures
