About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use):15Job Title: VP of People, S&P Dow Jones IndicesLocation: NY/LondonDESCRIPTION:The VP of People for S&P Dow Jones Indices will be a member of the S&P DJI Operating Committee as well as a key member of the MI.DJI.SA People Leadership team. In this role you are responsible for the People function for the highest margin business at S&P Global and the world’s largest and best-known index provider. You will define the SPDJI People strategy and goals and keep the leadership team laser focused on our People First approach to advancing our business. You will be the primary coach and advisor to the CEO and broader S&P DJI leadership team for all People related topics and are expected to have a voice in divisional leadership decisions. As the People lead, you will define and drive a high-performance culture that prioritizes integrity, transparency, inclusion, and accountability at all levels. You will lead, grow, and develop a small team of divisional People Partners.S&P DJI is a joint venture with S&P Global controlling the business with a 73% ownership stake and CME Group owning 27%. Assisting senior leadership maintain good relations with CME is important in this role. This role requires a seasoned HR leader with executive presence and a strategic mindset coupled with the ability to operationalize and execute on a robust people transformation plan. You will be the leader representing the People priorities to critical internal and external stakeholders, including the S&P Dow Jones Indices JV Board, S&P Global Executive Committee, regulators, and board members.Importantly, the right candidate will have the opportunity to run the divisional operating model transformation to Agile. This is a hands-on part of the role that defines and drives on our new approach to agile working, the related people practices, change management, organizational structure and design. You would also oversee a talented, global team of in-house agile experts and coaches. Currently, over 60% of the S&P DJI employee population is directly involved in agile workflow across a minimum of 50 teams.The VP of People for S&P Dow Jones Indices will report into the SVP of People for MI, DJI & Strategic Alliances. As such, in this role you will also be a key member of the broader divisional People Leadership team and will be expected to share best practices and insights, influence and enhance broader People function planning and priorities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and execute on S&P DJI People priorities that align with the divisional mission, vision and strategy.Lead People Partnering across areas of Organizational Design, Succession Planning, Performance Management, Talent & Development, People Relations, and People Rewards.Act as the primary partner to S&P DJI CEO for building, developing, and planning appropriate succession for the divisional leadership team.Provide strategic guidance & thought leadership to the S&P DJI CEO & Operating Committee members on a wide range of People topics.Coach, mentor, advise, and appropriately push the divisional leadership team to enhance partnership, trust, collaboration, and the development of colleagues globally.Champion the S&P DJI Culture as the primary spokesperson to the division on its cultural commitment to integrity, transparency, inclusion, and accountability.Develop DEI action plans, promote PRGs, role-model and advocate for the DEI change we want to see.Drive Engagement & Retention by identifying areas of opportunity and developing strategies and plans to mitigate attrition risk of key talent.Develop relationships and engage with key internal and external divisional stakeholders like regulators and board members on People and Business transformation topics.Develop and Build a High Performing S&P DJI People Function, act as a peer advisor, coach to other members of the team as well as coaching and building capabilities within own team – ensure strong succession is in place for own role. For the right candidate, this would extend to the Agile Acceleration team (10 people)Qualifications:Highly developed skills in influencing and navigating a complex, heavily matrixed global organization.Ability to partner naturally with a broader People Function and to execute without the need for hierarchy and multiple direct reports.Ability to work effectively across teams, foster inclusivity, overcome resistance and navigate a complex organization with a high level of EQ and focus on relationship buildingStrong analytical and data visualization skills; should be able to leverage global data dashboards with ease and foresightResolves complex operational problems requiring strategic and innovative solutions and with the experience of being able to relay in a succinct manner to senior executivesAptitude to communicate and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously, strong prioritization and organization skillsAdvanced communication skills. This includes the ability to simplify complex concepts and messages to the essential components and deliver these effectively to a wide range of audiencesAdvanced problem solving skills. Able to quickly identify and understand issues and drive towards effective resolution15+ years of relevant industry and function experienceExperience of partnering within a Financial Services, Data or Technology organization, especially with experience in organizational design and transformation, is highly preferredBachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferredCompensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $173,000 to $343,000.
