Overview:
Responsible for effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of large systems software and related infrastructure. Ensures operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.Primary Responsibilities:• Provide after-hours support as required for project implementations or responding to incidents. Determine root cause, identify permanent resolution, and implement the fix.• Complete final review and approval of documentation created or updated by less experienced staff.• Use tools to help automate processes and make systems more efficient, manageable, available, and secure.• Display advanced knowledge of various IBM and ISV products such as PanAPT, CA7, CA11, Datacom, Syncsort, Omegamon, OPS/MVS, ACF2, Strobe, Abend-Aid, File-Aid, z/OS Connect, GDPS, PKZIP, CA VIEW, Deliver, VPS, DRS, VSAM Assist, Performance Essentials.• Display advanced knowledge of TSO, ISPF, JCL, USS, JES2 and z/OS basics.• Participate in and support capacity planning and development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with Engineering and Architecture.• Respond to and resolve incidents; work with vendor to identify and implement fix. Use advanced diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues. Provide guidance during incidents to less experienced staff.• Identify root causes of system issues and work with partner teams to fix the cause.• Provide expert problem-solving of technical incidents based on mastery of system and adjoining systems. • Provide guidance to less experienced team members.• Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.• Complete other related duties as assigned.Education and Experience Required:Combined minimum of 7 years' higher education and/or related work experienceExperience reading and digesting technical informationDetail -orientedStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience interpreting and/or discussing information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many peopleStrong customer focus, including proven experience managing customer needs and multiple work prioritiesProven experience leading technical teams toward a common goal or project within a larger projectCollaborative team player Education and Experience Preferred:Combined minimum of 15 years' higher education and/or related work experienceCertifications or special training in Related Technologies Experience with HCD, IOGEN work, HMC workExperience with multiple flavors of GDPSExperience with Performance Management, RMF and LogrecAdvanced programming skills with languages such as SAS, EasyTrieve, Rexx, COBOLAdministrative experience with CA7 and PanAPT#z/OS #LI-KB1 #Dice Location Buffalo, New York, United States of America
