Job Description

FIS Management Services, LLC seeks Business Systems Analyst Specialist in Durham, NC to formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time and form of desired results. Analyze business and user needs, documentation of requirements and translation into proper system requirement specification. Influence business partners and service providers regarding priorities, hardware or software selection and vendor selection. Analyze marketplace, industry, company, technology trends and best practices, vendor products and services. Identify and document business strategies, objectives, and drivers. Analyze and document business processes and metrics and identify improvement opportunities. Calculate and estimate costs and benefits of alternative actions or solutions to establish their viability and ROI. Re-engineer processes to deliver greater effectiveness and efficiency. Identify/document how applications and systems interact to support business processes. Assess, apply and projects the impact of system changes on users and internal and external clients or stakeholders. Use knowledge of systems and industry requirements to develop or modify complex information systems. Write test plans and test cases to ensure changes which are made to the application meet client needs and that application integrity is maintained. Conduct a variety of tests such as system, integration, readiness, and acceptance test and ensure changes made by programmers are correct. Conduct tests using client data to be certain client needs will be met and verify through testing that changes made by programmers to one part of the application do not impact other parts. Report and review testing results and train internal employees or external clients on changes, new systems or new procedures. Mentor, guide, advise or check the work of less experienced business systems analysts and consider business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience: utilizing knowledge of payment industry platforms for business analysis, client interactions, data gathering, defining system scope and objectives, documenting functional and technical specifications, data mapping, file movement, data cleaning, error handling, validation, data mining and, visualization; working as a liaison for operational execution between leveraged groups such as development, production, testing, quality assurance using tools and technologies such as online transactional processing, databases, dashboards, RESTFUL services, SQL, Oracle, APIs, Java, GIT, Linux; managing all facets of project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, change, test, automation, risk and defect management by coordinating between cross functional teams; creating the information value chain model applicable to data formats, specifications classifications, and metadata; serving as a data SME in a banking, payments, financial institution and, merchant domain; utilizing Agile technologies and Framework. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master's degree or equivalent and five (5) years of experience. 25% travel required.
