Title: CCNA NOC Engineer

Duration: 12 Months (with possibility of extension)

Location: Charlotte, NC (7 AM – 4 PM EST)

Major lookouts:
  • A CCNA Certification
  • Prior work experience in an Operations Center environment
  • Experience with CISCO network implements, Transport related technologies or Voice/ Cellular troubleshooting.

Job Summary: As a Network Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computer networks, servers, and related infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure the efficient operation of the organization's network infrastructure, identifying and resolving network issues, and implementing new network solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers
  • Troubleshoot network issues, including LAN/WAN connectivity, VPN, and routing protocols
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including servers, switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Ensure network security and compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure solutions
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and standard operating procedures
  • Provide technical support to end-users and other IT teams as needed
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 network support

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in network operations or a related field
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP
  • Experience with network monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds or Nagios
  • Experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
