Will primarily manage preference cards and post charges for Surgical Services at both campuses.Summary:Supports all charge improvement efforts to achieve operational efficiency, revenue optimization and minimize missed charging opportunities across the division. This role serves a significant role in a high-profile group tasked with improving revenue results by taking a global view of clinical and financial processes, functions, and interdependencies for care delivery to final bill generation.Responsibilities:

Daily ensures that Preference Card charges are audited, the correct mark-up table is applied, and the correct EAP code is entered.

Complete OR journal daily for all areas, making necessary changes as well as ensuring cancellation codes are posted as necessary so case will not be counted in statistics.

Daily comparison of all Surgical Services resource locations to charge interface versus the schedule to ensure all patients are charged appropriately.

Daily charge audits: consist of reviewing detailed charges, ensuring each departments times are documented correctly and that the periop record complete time is entered, duplicates, missing charges as well as implant records. Coordinate that corrections are made in Epic.

Notifies the nurse responsible for documenting, department team leader and Surgical Services managers when discrepancies need to be corrected in journal information including implant record.

Facilitates billing of each Surgical Service patient's account within 72 hours of surgery. Documents reason in Epic when this timeframe cannot be met.

Researches charge kick outs and assign/charge as needed to correct charges in Epic for billing.

Educates Surgical Services team members of changes or improvement in billing process.

Assists with scheduling/billing of surgical patients as indicated.

10.Ensures that all charges are complete for Surgical Services patients including OR, PACU, Heart & Vascular, Endoscopy, SS Procedures and Holly Springs Surgical Services.11.Processes charges for supplies used from OR on the medical surgical units.

Reconciles charges with 3rd party vendor invoices prior to Purchase Order being requisitioned by SS Materials.

Discharges Endoscopy nurse-based procedure patients.

Computer data entry and typing required. Prior experience in customer service desired.
