Timmons Group is currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join our Land Development group in our Charlotte, NC office location.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Ability to manage several mid-sized projects, multiple small projects or a single larger project simultaneously is requiredDesign portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and Civil 3D technologyComplete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problemsPrepare specifications materials through the use of research and manufacturing catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a projectWork to complete design details and plan setsAssist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimatesCommunicate with client, staff, and internal design teamAbility to mentor junior level staffSenior Project Manager responsibilities include:Successful management of assigned projects and the development of assigned client accountsMarketing and client development, technical quality, profitability, schedule, project staff coordination, client communications, negotiating scopes and fees, billing and assistance in collection of fees when required, client follow-up maintenanceMaintaining superior relationships with each of their clients and cross-selling Timmons Group services which may fall outside of his/her direct professional expertiseSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a scientific area and/or equivalent work experienceProfessional registration (P.E., L.S., etc.) in one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business is preferredHas 6 + years of experience in engineering or a related technical professionMust have a thorough understanding of project accounting and demonstrated ability to manage the schedule and budget for multiple projects at the same timeHas experience in marketing and supervision of the technical work of othersHas a working knowledge of technical and office support software required to perform the essential functions of the positionConsistently presents a professional attitude towards clients and internal staffEffectively communicates with others in the daily completion of tasks or assignmentsStrives to achieve professional working relationships with others and shows a willingness to help others meet critical deadlinesMust possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle
