Role Overview:You'll be joining the Chief Data Office Data Architecture team who are responsible for strategic data architecture standards and coordinating the design of the strategic enterprise data models across the Bank. The team are a mix of data architects and data modellers committed to the delivery of high-quality data solutions. We own:

  • Development and maintenance of a high-level Enterprise Data Model that provides the fundamental data taxonomy for the Bank
  • The federated data architecture strategy
  • Guiding divisional, regional and functional architecture and modelling groups in implementing specific areas of this federated data architecture and modelling
  • Governance of the federated modelling activities for the Bank

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of the Enterprise data models for the firms Federated Data Architecture
  • Models across conceptual, logical and physical for your subject areas
  • Own modelling solutions to meet data requirements from Publisher and Consumers
  • Own the quality of design and definitions including the sign off of the models by business SMEs, Publishers and Consumers, Chief Data Architects and the CDO Data Architecture
  • Build strong partnerships with Business SMEs, Architects, Data Modellers, Data Stewards, Publishers and Consumers in your given Subject Areas
  • Understand and contribute to the data modelling standards for the firm
  • Providing guidance, support and training on data modelling best practices and Bank standards to other data professionals in your department
  • Assisting in the definition of the Data Architecture strategy for your Subject Areas
  • Providing oversight to the firms data assets to ensure standards are followed and working with teams to resolve non-compliance
  • Assisting in the development and execution of plans for the implementation, dissemination and maintenance of the groups data architecture strategy
  • Reporting to senior management and stakeholders on progress and model design
  • Ensuring execution of deliverables using Agile/Scrum management

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years proven work experience in data modelling related projects as Data Modeller and Business Analyst
  • Minimum 5 years' experience and demonstrable knowledge of the businesses, products and process of investment, corporate and retail banking.
  • Expert understanding of enterprise data modelling and data governance concepts
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in data modelling and data governance tools such as Collibra and PowerDesigner
  • Driven self-starter able to demonstrate coordination of teams across divisions and locations to achieve common data design and build goals
  • Understanding of data storage & transport protocols such as XML, JSON, AVRO etc.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as Financial Products Markup Language (FpML), Financial Information eXchange (FIX), International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO)
  • Basic understanding of latest solutions around data engineering including - Big Data, Cloud
  • Ability to set and communicate a clear strategy to the banks community of architects and designers
  • Educated to Bachelor's degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience in a computer science, engineering, physics or similar technical field, or equivalent hands-on is beneficial
  • Agile practitioner preferred
