Title: Data Protection ManagerLocation: Charlotte, NCDuration: Full Time, Direct HireWork Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the USJob Description:The Data Protection Manager will develop and maintain data privacy policies, standards, and guidelines for American business operations following corporate governance and US legislation. This role will hold primary responsibility for staying up to date on various privacy regulations and their application throughout the organization to include GDPR (as applicable), CPRA, FCRA, and other federal, state, and local regulations as they are proposed and implemented.What You ll Do:
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Information Technology, and other internal stakeholders as new legislation is introduced;
- Create and maintain the mapping of personal data across multiple technology platforms;
- Provide subject matter expertise to various stakeholders throughout the organization;
- Conduct data privacy due diligence around the vendor evaluation and contracting process to include Data Processing Impact Assessments;
- Manage Data Processing Agreements with vendors;
- Act as liaison to on data processing and protection to the USA Compliance Committee, the Group DPM Committee, and the Global Cybersecurity function;
- Work with Legal to establish data retention and data purging policies, standards, and guidelines to include developing processes, work with technical teams to implement data retention and purging operations within our technical systems, and monitor data retention and purging operations within our technical systems;
- Partner with US Communications team to support awareness training and communications related to data privacy;
- Coordinate responses to data subject rights requests and maintain and audit policies and procedures for responding to rights requests;
- Monitor and mitigate risk around data privacy across US organizations;
- Develop processes and work with our technical teams to implement data classification within our technical systems;
- Manage and monitor data classification within our technical systems;
- Participate in audits regarding data privacy to ensure compliance with USA and Global policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Bachelor s Degree or equivalent work experience in information technology or related field;
- Demonstrated knowledge of data privacy practices and legislation with at least 5 years of experience in a related information technology or compliance role;
- CIPP or related privacy certification;
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment;
- Ability to effectively communicate regulatory data privacy obligations throughout several business units operating across multiple states.
