Our Healthcare Insurance client is seeking a Data Technology Advisor to join their team for a contract-to-hire role! Our client has more than 5,000 employees and is the number 1 health insurer in the state of North Carolina serving more than 3.89 million customers. Position:Data Technology Advisor

Term: 6 Months, Contract to Hire

Location: Remote, USA While the position is Remote, work from home, to be eligible to convert to an employee of this company, you must reside in North Carolina or one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming

Required Skills
  • Bachelors Degree or advanced degree required.In lieu of degree, 7 years experience in health data management, systems analysis or other related experience
  • 5 years experience in data management, systems analysis or other related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL

Desired Skills
  • Experience in data integration and/or data warehousing
  • Experience in migrating data from one system or platform to another preferred
  • Experience in Health Care preferred
  • Experience working on a Teradata platform preferred
  • Expert knowledge level of healthcare data in at least one subject area; working knowledge level in at least one other subject area (e.g. claims, membership, provider, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of relational database systems and concepts
  • Experience as a project team member in a data warehousing environment.
  • Working ability in a UNIX/Linux environment
  • Working level knowledge of internal IM systems and standard processes such as Ctrl-M, MFT, etc
  • Working knowledge of a Data Warehouse Methodology and SDLC.
  • Familiarity with the capabilities and functional features of an ETL tool such as Informatica or Abinitio.
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies
  • Ability to learn and apply intermediate to advanced SQL skills
  • Ability to describe in business terms the technical functions of a software component or program.
  • Ability to map data elements from source to target.
  • Ability to translate business requirements and functional requirements into precise technical specifications.
  • Ability to report task status and issues according to the standard procedures.
  • Ability to work in Agile and Waterfall project environments
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members
  • Ability to work in Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices
  • Ability to resolve project-related issues in collaboration with the entire technical team.
  • Ability to work with external vendors/partners and to help resolve data integration issues across internal/external systems.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Engage directly with the business to solicit functional and strategic requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
  • Lead the development of data-related solution design used in projects.
  • Liaise with the business community as a technical expert for understanding the data in the repositories.
  • Provide clear reporting of project level issues to management.
  • Responsible for final work product within assigned projects as related to data, data design, transformations and quality of results.
  • Provide leadership to the assigned team as domain data expert. This includes assisting other team members, regardless of role, in the best approach to completing work assignments and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Interface with the Project Manager and ISDS Management on medium to large projects when assigned to ensure resources needed to move through the SDLC process effectively.
  • Assist in leading the development of solutions utilizing varied platforms and technologies (i.e., SQL, Teradata, Helix, S3, Snowflake, AWS) and/or strategic data stores (i.e., Enterprise Operational Data, Master Data Management, Analytics, and Insights Platform) to best meet business needs.
  • Work with external vendors/partners to help resolve data integration issues across internal/external systems
  • Serve as mentor/coach for less experienced analysts.
  • Conduct and participate in peer reviews as a senior team member
  • Engage in standard Data Integration Analyst work to include:
  • Documentation of source and table specifications
  • Determination of appropriate source data for extraction to the data warehouse
  • Collaboration with other technical areas within ISIM and other related areas
  • Analysis of production fallout to determine if production code is working as designed and how data issues should be prioritized and corrected
  • Provision of project estimates
