Job Summary: Secure the Product Design quality for all visual surfaces and parts, including on and off- board HMI, so that the Product Message and the Design Intent meet the project prerequisites targets.Responsibilities: Responsible for Product Design quality for all visual surfaces and parts, independent from its development or technology and including on and off- board HMI. Perform Appearance Approval assessment on individual component and component systems such as seats, grills, HMI, Instrument Panel, Mirrors etc. Perform ocular inspections of the un-grained 'first out of tool' parts from the supplier and inspect tools if needed. Sign and approve 'Go ahead to grain'. Secure that all visual parts fulfill the color, grain, gloss, light intensity and haptic From the holistic/complete vehicle perspective, secure a consistent and coherent perceived quality of adjoining parts. Including build and tolerance quality to assess the overall quality perception. Assess whether defects affecting visual quality are related to the manufacturing process, e.g. Sink-marks, flow lines, flash, gate positions, gloss differentiation etc. for plastic parts and agree how these defects can be rectified before sign-off. Assess for visual quality processes including fabric joining for seats e.g. stitch positioning, stitch quality/integrity, folds, wrinkles etc. Assess the influence on light quality, color, intensity and continuity to surrounding components e.g. instrument cluster, displays, tell-tales and illumination. Perform Appearance Approval Reporting for HMI and UX (User Experience) with respect to mobile and on-board applications and web-based interaction applications. Participate in graining development from the early phases of design process up to master sample creation and its application onto production parts. Secure the correct visual quality of the output from the Product Design Process to support project time plan and to secure surface classification from early phases to engineering release sequences. Participate in the development and implementation of coloring and painting of Exterior and other components to secure Product Design requirements for quality impression. Participate in defining the A, B and C surface classifications and secure that Product Design requirements are consistent with the Brand and Product message strategies. Work Cross-functionally with the Manufacturing processes and owners for a consistent approach. Secure a consistent dialogue with the Geometrical Assurance group to maintain Product Design requirements according to Brand and Product Message needs.

SKills: High level of understanding of Materials and their properties including Plastic, Textile, Vinyl, Paint, Dcor finishes. glass and metal (stamped parts, molded parts). Advanced comprehension of Production methods and Production Processes for the Materials to be assessed In the AAR process including Plastics, illumination and other materials mentioned previously. High level abilities in illumination and color assessment towards requirements. Fully proficient in Excel and Powerpoint. Minimum 5 years of documented experience in quality from automotive industry Learning on the fly Proven aesthetic, visual understanding of visual surfaces Good communication and documentation skills OrganizedEducation:Bachelor of Industrial Design, CMF design, Engineering, qualityOr Equivalent proven professional experience +5 years
