Job Description: Senior SAP MDG Application Developer

Remote opportunity

The Senior SAP MDG Developer will be a key member of the Global Data Governance Center of Excellence. Master Data Management developer will lead the development, configuration, and integration efforts for SAP MDG Tool. Candidates should have experience defining SAP S4/Hana MDG architecture and functional use of the solution across Material, Customer, and Financial data domains. Critical to the role will be to guide business and data teams to maximize the use of the SAP MDG platform, maintain the MDG technical roadmap and advise / support new projects that will require master data from the MDG platform.

Responsibilities
The Senior SAP MDG Application Developer is accountable for ensuring the SAP MDG application is well controlled, operating effectively and aligned with business needs. In addition to daily business support tasks, this role is responsible for assisting in identifying and implementing process improvements.

  • Maintain the integration architecture for master data using SAP Data Services (inc SAP MDG & PI) and/ or web services-based integrations, bespoke user interfaces, and processes that leverage APIs.
  • Plan, design and lead MDG application components of business initiatives
  • Day-to-Day support (issue analysis and resolution) of SAP MDG application
  • Collate, evaluate and prioritize new MDG requirements / enhancements
  • Prepare functional specifications, configuration and training documentation
  • Partners with the Global Data Governance COE on strategy for specific data management capabilities, overall master data management, reference data, and metadata
  • Participates in technical platform strategy sessions impacting master data management
  • Provide advice and support for the definition of data standards across master data domains including the development of new data models that meet the business needs of end users and add value.
  • Develop a strong command of MDM processes driving continuous improvement utilizing the latest capabilities of the MDG platform
  • Contributes as a data subject matter expert on HBI Agile workstreams and business activities
  • Develops metrics to monitor success within master data management
  • Adheres to applications security procedures, change control guidelines and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, e.g., addition/change/removal of program codes must be authorized, tested, and approved by business and IT

    Required Qualifications:
    o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    o 5+ years of SAP MDG experience required
    o Understanding of SAP ECC and or S4/ HANA preferred
    o Significant experience with master data management processes and technology including developing data models and maintaining master data records within SAP MDG
    o Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
    o Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing workload to complete multiple tasks while meeting aggressive deadlines
    o Work independently with minimal supervision.

    o Experience in operating in and Agile environment
    o Knowledge in REST/SOAP architectural principles and patterns with API/JSON, XML experience.
