You will oversee the Non-US income tax compliance group for Carrier, leading a team that is responsible for ensuring the filing of Non-US income tax compliance returns.Key Responsibilities:

Own the Non-US income tax compliance processes ensuring timely filing of all Non-US income tax returns and tax estimates with a through put of $500M+ on an annual basis

Responsible for cost efficiencies and continued standardization of the Non-US income tax compliance process

Responsible for improving Non-US income tax audit response readiness

Own all Non-US income tax aspects of the US federal return including Form 1118, 5741s, 8865s, etc.

Own the business case for insourcing more of the US foreign inclusion computations as currently outsourced to a 3rd party

Responsible for integrating and transitioning all new Non-US acquisitions, such as Viessmann, income tax compliance processes to the Carrier income tax process

Responsible for the communication and enhancement of the Non-US income tax return accuracy and filing timeliness related to key performance indicators, as visible to the finance leadership team

Manage the modeling and impact to the Company of tax law changes to the US foreign inclusions (Subpart F, GILTI, etc.)

Manage the US foreign inclusions aspects of divestitures and work with advisors to determine more cost-effective disposal strategies

Support Plan, forecast, quarterly and year-end closing processes

Manage tax compliance systems’ requirements and planning

Coordinate compliance co-sourcing resources and help drive cost efficiencies

Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley controls’ requirements

Establish and maintain standard methodologies template – Carrier Way etc.

Responsible for providing primary input to staff development hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and reward decisions

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business

10+ years of experience in Taxation and/or Accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced tax degree and/or CPA preferred

2+ years of supervisory experience in Tax

10+ years of Federal Tax Compliance experience in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment

Experience with CorpTax, Longview and/or HFM software, a plus

Understand major steps in compliance process, from data sourcing through filing and tax account activity

General knowledge of primary Carrier tax methodologies

In-depth understanding of tax systems’ capabilities

Ability to identify and implement continuous process improvements

Understand impact of income taxes on the financial statements, and identify opportunities to combine tax and accounting knowledge to improve business results
