Job Description: Overview:
The Global Director of Technology PLM/DPC is a creative and experienced professional who is responsible for leading the organizations global technology strategic mission and vision in the product lifecycle and digital product creation areas. This role will be a critical lead in delivering strategic solutions to support our PLM and DPC teams with the latest technologies that align with our digitization transformation!

This director role will build, lead, and scale product lifecycle and digital product creation technology to support the full spectrum of global research & development. This role will manage the selection, development and delivery of global technology solutions that support the vision of the organizations strategic business plan.


Organizational Impact:
Recommends operational plans and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall functional results. Directs the execution of strategies established by functional leadership. Establishes operational plans for job area with short- to mid-term impact on results (e.g., 1-3 years).
Work requires a high degree of responsibility for resources and frequently influences business decisions made by functional leadership.
Typically has budget or P&L accountability for the areas of responsibility.

Innovation & Complexity

Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products using significant conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation.
Problems and issues faced are numerous, typically undefined where information is difficult to obtain. Conducts extensive investigation to understand root cause of problems. Problems span a wide range of difficult and unique issues across functions and/or businesses.

Communication & Influence

Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function, and typically has responsibilities for communicating with parties external to the organization, which may include customers or vendors.
Works to influence others to accept job functions view/practices and agree/accept new concepts, practices and approaches. Requires ability to communicate with executive leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization. May conduct briefings with senior leaders within the job function. May at times be required to negotiate regarding operational issues.

Leadership & Talent Mgmt

Manages a department or small unit that can include multiple teams led by Managers and/or Supervisors. Responsible for creating workforce and staffing plans for department / unit to ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish departmental business results.
Typically has hiring, firing, promotion and reward authority within own area, in accordance with Corporate Guidelines.


Responsibilities:
Develops the global product lifecycle management and digital product creation technology strategy, establishing governance and quality standards, implementing tools and techniques, providing training and support, and ensuring compliance globally to drive business value and operational efficiencies.

Proactively analyzes trends in technology and assesses the impact of emerging technologies.

Focus on strategy and operational plans with short-to mid-term focus (e.g., 1-3 years).

Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures.

Establishes key elements of tactical and operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the sub-function.

Focus is on short-to mid-term operational plans (e.g., 1-3 years). Develops new products, processes, standards or operational plans in support of the job function strategy.

Delivers a forward-thinking and executable roadmap of well-designed and well-supported solutions that ensures business success while evaluating the applicability and effectiveness of current solutions and the impact on the agreed roadmaps. Ensure stakeholder engagement through effective communication, collaboration and education.

Budget or P&L accountability for area of responsibility, manage elements of the budget and directs the preparation, review and consolidation of business plans and budgets for strategic IT initiatives.

Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of job area.

Directs the development and implementation of technologies to improve the performance of multiple business processes, increase profitability, and support the business strategy as well as integration with downstream systems.

Allocates resources (budget and people) and manages the development and delivery of training for internal and external IT users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems.

Contributes to and influences the development of standards and changes to systems/applications.

Manages and builds an exceptional team which would typically consist of both experienced professionals and managers.

Leads and mentors staff while providing career coaching and development through influence.

Manages vendor relationships to maximize value to the business. Manages simple to moderately complex contracts.

Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with departmental directors and staff to develop a clear understanding of business needs, strategy and direction and advise on how each of those can benefit from technology.

Must be able to develop and implement a global/regional and integrated strategy to facilitate effective planning and management of all activities.

Ensures adherence to applications security procedures, change control guidelines and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.


Qualifications:
10+ years technical experience working in an IT organization required.

10+ years leadership/management experience required.

Bachelors degree required; masters preferred.

Expert knowledge of product development and digital product creation processes.

Experience with PLM software required; PTC FlexPLM experience preferred.

Experience leading a minimum of 2 PLM lifecycle implementations.

Experience integrating PLM with ERP systems.

Experience with SAP S4 Fashion preferred.

Experience with 3D tools preferred.

Experience with contracts and vendor negotiations.

Experience working in an agile environment using SAFe methodology or other proven agile methodology preferred.
