Description:This position requires a basic mechanical understanding of the equipment, experience with CAD systems (AutoCAD and/or Inventor), and proficiency with the MS-Office suite. Effective communication skills for internal and external interface as well as organizational, planning, and managing skills are essential. This position will be responsible to develop products designed for manufacturing and implement cost effective designs to keep a competitive edge. Interaction with design team members and other engineering groups as well as manufacturing personnel and production/purchasing individuals will be required. Top Skills:

Experience utilizing AutoCAD or AutoCAD electrical (will need to do their own schematics)

Understand Motor controls and design.

Understand BOMs

Control Panel Design

Responsibilities: Responsible for compliance with N.E.C., U.L., CE and other codes as required. Produce electrical engineering documentation such as schematic drawings, harness drawings Design electrical controls which include their operation and troubleshooting manuals. Provide support to the production team by creating, modifying, and troubleshooting industrial machinery/equipment Assist with the install of electrical controls in both new and existing equipment. Identify and implement design improvement projects directed at reducing cost and improving product development Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished machinery and system capabilities. Establish system requirements, design to those requirements, and validate that the system meets the requirements Identify new electrical technologies, validate performance and application potential, and establish network to maintain awareness of relevant technology Compliance with safety and regulatory requirements Design PLC control systems using Allen Bradley: MicroLogix and ControlLogix PLC’s. Development, design and implementation of unit equipment that is a large portion of the business Validate designs in-house and field test prototypes at customer locations when necessary. Generate all necessary documentation for the manufacture, support, and operation of these systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications:2 years’ experience in creating or modifying industrial control panels. AAS degree in electrical field. Understanding of engineering principles and tools including circuit design, controls standards, signal processing, circuit and system modeling, properties of materials, mechanical stress, and system reliability requiredAuto Cad experience a must, Inventor preferred.
