Hi! I'm Psychic Medium Kelly Palmatier, and I'm looking for another great addition to my team!
The Event Coordinator role will take charge of booking, planning, and executing special events and projects. For example, I regularly donate group mediumship readings as fundraisers for non-profit organizations. I also like to sponsor food, clothing, and toy drives, blood drives, and similar events. Other events to be booked include group readings for the public at various theatres or other performance venues.
This is a part-time, contract position. The vast majority of the work will be telecommuting, but occasional on-location work (assisting with events) will be required. (The person in this role must be based in Asheville, NC.)
The compensation is $23 per hour, and I'm estimating the work to be between five and ten hours per week.
(I am also seeking a Social Media Expert & Executive Assistant for an additional ten to 15 hours per week, so feel free to apply for that as well if the combined roles work for you.)
Tasks for this position include calling, emailing, and stopping by in person to meet with local venues, organizations, and media — as well as attending and assisting with scheduled events. You can set your own hours, as long as you're reaching out during the times you're most likely to get results (typically during regular business hours).
This role will also involve booking media interviews for me, including podcasts and similar opportunities.
I’m looking for someone who is confident, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You should be organized, professional, and reliable. While you'll coordinate with the rest of my team regarding possible options, I need someone who is a self-starter and can take initiative to make things happen without a lot of hand-holding. I’ll share the vision, and I need someone who can figure out how to bring it to life.
My expectation is that you’ll schedule a group mediumship reading event at least once every four to six weeks, and book a media interview (including podcasts, etc.) at least once every two to four weeks. There’s flexibility in how you make this happen, as long as those targets are met.
REQUIREMENTS
LOCAL – The majority of the work will be done remotely, but there will be some work done visiting venues, running related errands, and assisting at the events, so I'm seeking someone in the Asheville area.
RELIABLE – The ideal candidate needs to have a reliable computer, Internet access, transportation, etc.
PROFESSIONAL – I need someone who knows how to project an image that instills trust from my clients and the non-profits we interact with. This includes speaking eloquently with good diction, wearing upscale attire, arriving early, etc.
AVAILABLE – I need someone I can reach quickly who will reply back quickly. (It's okay to reply saying you'll get back to me in a few hours.)
INTELLIGENT – Brain surgery is not required, but using your brain is important!
COMPUTER SAVVY – It will be necessary to know how to use email, spreadsheets, etc.
FLEXIBLE – There will be additional tasks that come up that I have not included here. There won’t be any toilet scrubbing, but there could be any number of tasks that I haven’t thought to list here. As long as you’re comfortable with helping out, and you’re flexible, it should be fine.
PROGRESSIVE – This is not a political organization, but I am focused on helping others, which includes promoting a lot of progressive causes. The ideal colleague should be supportive of progressive causes.
EXCELLENT WITH GRAMMAR – Nobody’s PerFekt, but I’m a stickler for correct punctuation, grammar, syntax, etc.
OPEN-MINDED – I am NOT seeking someone with psychic abilities – I've got that covered! – but it's important that you are open-minded about the spiritual realm.
DIVERSITY IS A PLUS – Any race, any gender, any age, any lifestyle orientation is fine. (Diversity is encouraged!)
To apply, please reply to this ad via email. The subject line should say, “APPLICANT INTRODUCTION – FirstName LastName,” where you include your actual name, of course. The body of the email should include at least one or more paragraphs that describe a little bit about you, your personality, and why this position suits you. (Be sure to include where you live, your email address, and your phone number.)
Please proofread your submission carefully, as I will be judging applicants on typos, etc. Please attach a resumé, but be aware that the email itself, along with how well you followed the directions, will be just as important as the resumé.
Thanks for your interest, and I wish you all the best!
