Collaborating with the on-site team, the Crew Leader oversees new landscape installations and renovations, managing both planting and hardscaping for excellent results. The Crew Leader is crucial to the success of landscape projects, providing leadership, management, and oversight to ensure that projects meet the highest standards and client expectations.QualificationsMinimum one year experience in the landscape garden industry preferredCapable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible mannerEffective communication skills – must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signsTime management skillsAbility to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a teamAbility to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of timeA valid driver's license is required for employment. Also, applicants must be able to be added to the company insurance policy.Able to work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and coldResponsibilities:Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, meeting specifications and finding solutions for any deviations that may arise.Monitor project progress against estimated hourly goals and material budgets, adjusting quickly when there are overages on time or materials.Report project status to the production manager daily, formulating plans for the next day and upcoming weeks.Collaborate with Designers/Production managers on-site to lay out plantings and hardscapesPerform physical tasks, including digging, lifting, operating machines, and loading tools and equipment.Move and install soil, mulch, and plant material for landscape construction.Assist with hardscapes, grades, or other technical matters on other job sites when needed.Attend weekly production meetings prepared to discuss the plan and sequence for the next two weeks, including materials, equipment, and labor.CompensationYou can expect 40 – 50 hours per week in season (approximately March 1 – December 15) and 40 hours out of season (weather dependent).
