OverviewPosition: Facilities Manager Department:Maintenance Availability: Immediate Schedule: Full Time - Monday thru Friday (7am to 3pm) Reporting Relationship:State Coordinators Salary Grade:75; Non-Exempt ResponsibilitiesThe Facilities Manager handles building and equipments repairs as needed; will contact and supervise outside contractors as needed (HVAC mechanics, electricians, plumbers, alarm system technicians); assist with seasonal projects (toy shop set up), emergency clean up or emergency janitorial work. Drive SA vehicles as needed to pick up tools, supplies and equipment. Qualifications
Excellent organizational skills and ability to lead janitorial workers to assure high standard of maintance and cleanliness of the facility.
Ability to follow directions and operate cleaning equiment (buffer, vacuum cleaner, mops, shovels, lawn mower)
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License preferred
Must be able to obtain clearances required by the Joseph R Biden III and the Child Protection Act.
Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
Duties Include:
Coordinate the janitorial team and duties around the facility.
Maintain exterior of building and grounds as needed to include grass cutting, weed trimming, snow shoveling and spreading "ice melt" chemicals as needed
Evaluate condition of the facility, identifying problems and making appropriate repairs or clean up when possible; determine appropriate action plan to resolve issues, advising State Coordinator of work that needs to be completed by a vendor.
Be the first to respond to fire, security, and life safety systems
Maintain a consistently high level of efficiency in the operations of State facilities.
Monitor all utilities and systems for the entire center daily.
Expectations will include carpeting, tile work, dry-wall work, painting, and minor mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc., work.
Work with and oversee all HVAC, Boiler, Fire Panel, Security, etc., work with outside contractor
Maintain accurate updated files of warranties, maintenance, service contracts, inspections, and other required record keeping.
Establish a priority system of unscheduled maintenance.
Operate machinery and climb ladders as needed to fulfill job related responsibilities, replace light bulbs, emergency signs, etc.
Unload and stock deliveries of goods and supplies as needed or as directed by leadership.
Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment. Order supplies as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the State Coordinator necessary for the normal, safe, efficient, clean operations of the Salvation Army programs under the Delaware State Offices.
