Job Description:

Responsible for providing leadership, technical direction, and oversight to a team as they deliver technology solutions. Develops solutions and processes for delivering features based on their knowledge of design/architectural patterns and Agile/DevOps practices. Ensures the systems design and requirements are aligned to achieve the desired business outcomes, and that team practices and coding/quality principles are aligned to achieve the desired technology outcomes. They have built significant experience through multiple software implementations and has developed both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Designs and develops and is accountable for feature delivery. Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality. Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt. Responsible for compliance and security items and audit support at the team level. Acts as a liaison for production activities/issues. Works with Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria. Guides the team on work breakdown and execution. Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team. Guides team members with skills and practices (planning & estimation, peer reviews and other engineering practices). Identifies skill and role gaps, and works with Technology Manager to address them. Works with Technology Manager in creating resource contingency plans where required. Individual contributor.

CashPro® is Bank of America's flagship digital platform, enabling working capital management globally for 35k clients and 486k users across 175 countries. The Digital Channels Technology organization, part of the larger Global Banking Technology division, oversees the development and execution of comprehensive strategies supporting all Digital services accessible via CashPro's channels (online, mobile, File, and API connectivity). Minimum 6+ years of experience in a combination of full-stack enterprise application architecture, software development and infrastructure. Be able to interface with users and other team members, understand the requirements and convert the specifications into a robust architecture that is practical and provides a solid foundation for future development. Understand Bank of America technology stack and ensure that architecture aligns to it. Be able to articulate trade-offs between various proposed strategies. Resource will be aligned to work-streams that develop practical solutions for Global Banking and also help with developing strategies for pushing the bar on the innovation work being done by the team. Provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource. May lead a team of software engineers.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a developer in J2EE technologies and framework like Spring, JDBC, JMS, SOAP/REST API, etc. for integration
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in development and managing full-stack enterprise application
  • Minimum 3+ years of design and development experience in modern technologies such as API management, REST/API integration, Containers, Micro services
  • Solid experience in Logging, Caching, Transaction Management, Multi-Threading/Concurrency, Performance Tuning, and Monitoring aspects of applications
  • Direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations
  • Experience with Oracle/Exadata; ability to navigate and write optimized SQL queries
  • Solid experience with Oracle/Exadata; ability to navigate complex SQL scripts/queries/STOR PROCs and optimization
  • Ability to work closely with Solutions Architects to design componentized solutions that align with an API-based integration strategy
  • Ability to develop, review and comment on written technical documentation
  • Understanding and hands-on implementation of DevOps CI CD process
  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Dev/Ops tools including Bitbucket, Ansible Tower, Jenkins and GitHub (Atlasian Suite/Horizon)
  • Possess a knowledge of enterprise monitoring technologies, i.e. Splunk, App Dynamics, Sitescope, Glassbox etc
  • Understanding and usage of DevOps processes for the build and deployment
  • 2+ years of experience working in Agile teams (Preferably Scaled Agile)
  • Positive attitude, ability to be flexible, and work in a team in a fast-paced project environment
  • Willingness to be accountable for meeting all deliverable dates for task assignments
  • Knowledge of business banking and industry processes
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior developers on the team
  • Excellent analysis and troubleshooting skills

Desired Skills:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Familiarity with no-SQL Databases (preferably Elastic, Mongo, Marklogic) etc
  • Proficiency/experience with containers (OpenShift/Kubernetes )
  • Prefer candidates with a well-rounded career history working with large private and public enterprise systems in fintech or banking domain with large number of users and processing large data sets in critical enterprise systems
