Experience using Esri's ArcGIS Desktop suite of applications, including, but not limited to ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro. The candidate will be allowed to work remotely until all staff return to site. At that point the candidate will be required to come onsite. The candidate will need to come onsite the first day to collect equipment. Primary Purpose of the Position This position provides highly technical geospatial services for the Center for Geographic Information and Analysis' (CGIA) AddressNC Program. Specifically, this position will operate in a GIS production environment to manage statewide address point data. Tasking will involve a range of analytical procedures to validate quality control review and ensuring adherence to technical specifications, performing production editing, running process scripting for updates and maintenance, and assisting with processes for developing new data for external clients. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Recommended in this Position Requires strong knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and experience in applying geospatial workflows and solutions, data management and analysis. A demonstrated working knowledge of Esri's ArcGIS suite of products is required and experience with ArcGIS Pro and customizations is preferred. Requires a strong understanding of how to edit and maintain GIS data in the Esri ArcGIS suite of products. An understanding of addressing standards and workflows is preferred, but not required. Experience in an SDE versioned multi-user environment is preferred. Requires demonstrated expertise in data visualization and cartography to help explain patterns and issues and producing static GIS maps for effective communication. Exposure to and understanding of the fundamentals of online mapping tools and knowledge of NC OneMap is preferred. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
