High Voltage Power Supply Electrical Engineer

you'll participate in electrical requirements analysis, functional analysis and performance analysis (e.g. timing, power, etc.) for the design, integration and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems. What you bring to the table:

  • Solid use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Proven knowledge of electrical engineering processes and design tools
  • Experience in test & troubleshooting and reading schematics
  • Understanding of high voltage single and three phase AC primary power to DC output power converters. (Spellman / Glassman power converter experience preferred).
  • Design experience / expertise at both the cabinet and PWA level.
  • Experience in HV switch / switching systems design.
  • Experience with design of Test Load assemblies (including heat dissipation requirements).
  • Experience in HV output to signal path design including understanding of noise, safety and physical separation requirements.
  • Experience with 20kV power chassis design including corona and HV breakdown / withstand testing
  • Ability to create preproduction models to verify and refine final designs
  • Ability to work closely with manufacturing to facilitate production builds
  • Ability to create and document component and system test plans
  • Understanding of power filtering required to provide clean DC power to hardware and systems (passive and active).
  • Able to translate system requirements into workable designs.
  • Ability to integrate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) into HVPS systems. Prefer Allen-Bradley experience.
  • Understanding of programming languages (C, basic and assembly).
  • Design level understanding of Personnel Safety Interlock Systems for high voltage systems and equipment
  • Systems Engineering background or propensity to view & understand interactions at an upper system level.
