HS Teacher/Assistant Principal

Academic Leadership Charter School is seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to fill a dual role as both a High School Teacher and Assistant Principal for our new high school, serving 50-60 students in Grade 9 starting in the 2025-2026 school year. The candidate will split their time between teaching a core subject—English, Math, or Science—and assisting the Principal in building school culture, discipline, and managing administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

-Provide instruction in one core subject (English, Math, or Science) for half of the school day.

-Serve as Assistant Principal for the other half of the day, supporting school administration- including, but not limited to teacher coaching and professional development, curriculum and assessment development, analyzing data to improve practices.

-Assist in the development and growth of a new high school starting with Grade 9 in Fall 2025, adding one grade level each subsequent year.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in English, Mathematics, or Science from a competitive college, Master's preferred, with a strong GPA.

-Proven teaching experience in high school English, Math, or Science; NYS certification preferred.

-Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

-Ability to use data to make informed decisions and effectively manage disciplinary matters.

-Passion for fostering a positive and inclusive school environment, with experience in staff professional development.
