Immediate Opening for Associate Attorney Bilingual Preferred

We are a small boutique style law office in Raleigh, North Carolina servicing the Triangle and surrounding area. Our office is in search of an associate attorney to assist with the handling of criminal, traffic, and family law cases. Associate will be responsible for representing Arroyo Law Clients in a wide range of criminal cases in district court and civil matters with an emphasis on simple divorces, child custody, and Domestic Violence 50B hearings. This position is ideal for newly licensed attorneys looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic; excellent communications skills, both written and oral; excellent time management skills; and will be expected to handle cases from start to finish after the completion of training by the Managing Attorney. Preference will be given to candidates who are Spanish speaking skills, although that skill is not required.

General job duties will include:

Conducting Client Consultations

Making court appearances with Clients in Wake, Durham, Johnston, and surrounding counties

Negotiating plea agreements with prosecutors

Conducting trials in district court

Drafting court documents, including but not limited to: Complaints, Summons, Hearing Notices, Motions, Answers, Discovery Documents etc.

Preparing Client testimony for trial / preparing trial notebooks

Conducting legal research

Facilitating the timely disposition of cases
