Role Title: Java Back End Engineer

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Duration: 6 months CTH

Location: Raleigh, NC – hybrid onsite

Requirements: They are purely going to develop API's. Looking for someone who can take ownership, self-learner who can dig in. CTH role and local to Raleigh- onsite 3 days. Need to be strong in Java/Spring Boot and AWS 1. Bachelor's Degree and five+ years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience2. Strong hands-on experience in Java/Spring/Spring Boot technology with REST/SOAP service skill set.3. Good understanding of Database Technology with foundational SQL and Stored procedure skills. 4. Solid understanding of DevOps practices5. Basic knowledge/foundation of Cloud technology and Cloud concepts (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform)6. Experience working with Agile SDLC frameworks and working within cross disciplinary teams7. Ability to mentor less experienced engineers

Preferred Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related degree 2. Banking or financial services experience. Knowledge of one or more of the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills3. Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks4. Direct experience or certification with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform7. Strong understanding of SOA and/or Open API methodologies and service architectures8. Experience using application containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and caching technologies9. Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling)10. Experience with messaging systems (i.e., MQ and JMS)11. Experience with build tools, such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins. Proven ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests
