Java Lead

• Leads cross-functional offshore developers and teams in the design and implementation of team deliverables.
• Serves as the primary onshore technical resource in support of the application during US business hours. Will be able to provide hands-on support to as needed and will be the technical expert in understanding the inner workings of the team’s services and tools and how they interface with other systems.
• Create solutions by partnering with architects and peer team leads responsible for other domains to understand how best to leverage existing capabilities and APIs.
• Works with DevOps teams to ensure CI/CD pipeline is streamlined and reliable also engages with DevOps teams to ensure scalability and availability are up to standards via monitoring/alerting, auto-scaling, and infrastructure-as-code practices are followed. Ensures that code adheres to strict standards for accessibility, security, object-oriented practices, and performance
• Demonstrated technical leadership skills and ability to guide, mentor and coach other developers and technical staff
• Strong skills in critical thinking, problem solving, troubleshooting and analysis
• Other duties as assigned
• Expert knowledge required in the following areas:
• Java, J2EE, Spring Boot
• Apache Freemarker templating engine
• REST API Design and Implementation
• HTML, JSON markup
• Communicate effectively with team members, peers and supervisors.
• Experience leading cross-functional offshore teams in the design and implementation of new software as well as maintaining and enhancing existing software
• Organize tasks and goals for the team, follow-up to ensure timely execution as needed.
• Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment with potentially conflicting priorities
• Significant experience or knowledge required in the following areas:
• Semantic Markup (2+ years)
• REST/API Development Using Microservice Architecture (3+ years)
• Unit Testing / Test Coverage (3+ years)
• Continuous Integration/Build Automation (3+ years)
• Good to have exposure in the following areas:
• AWS Services
• Machine Learning
• MySQL (or other relational SQL DB experience)
• MongoDB (or other NoSQL DB experience)
• Microservice Architecture
• Serverless Architecture
• ReactJS
• EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / MIS or equivalent experience required. Minimum 10 years’ experience in software engineering and design.
• Agile development (3+ years)
• AWS Lambda - Serverless Architecture (2+ years)
