Microsoft 365 Security Architect: You will use your knowledge and experience to help drive the Microsoft 365 security design and technology delivery. We are looking for a person who has the right mindset to be a part of an elite team of engineers and architects focused on making our businesses successful. You must possess a unique blend of deep technical and customer facing skills. Be an out of the box thinker and able to directly engage with all technology stakeholders - security, compliance, data, user experience, business, governance, service validation, support, and operations.

Description

Role is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution architecture for the defined Microsoft 365 security which aligns with the enterprise architecture strategy, technology and platform choices. Key responsibilities include describing the cloud solution intent/associated environments, evaluating system impacts, determining the primary systems/subsystems and their interfaces, assisting with end-to-end solution design where needed, defining non- functional requirements/architectural runway to support new epics/features. The role ensures that Microsoft 365 security is fit for purpose and by working with stakeholders, vendors/service providers, and evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work across business and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision and evolve it to an emerging backlog
  • Consult with the business regarding problems and technology to understand challenges and find creative solutions through their knowledge of the domain, practical experiments and Proof of Concepts (POCs)
  • Lead rapid shaping of a high-level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements; ensure architecture is flexible and modular and designed to adapt easily
  • Utilize the defined best practices, templates and documentation to create architectural designs; suggest improvements to best practices and templates through practical knowledge
  • Work with Product Manager/Owners to plan and prioritize technology-focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable business epics/features
  • Clarify the architecture and assist with system design (where needed) for the development teams to support implementation, and provide solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
  • Perform design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)
  • Educate team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies and best practices to create innovative solutions

Required Skills:
  • Relevant industry experience; 5+ years in a financial, health or insurance industry
  • 5+ years of extensive experience and technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 security technologies
  • Experience implementing services for large enterprises for Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services
  • You must also have a broad understanding of core Microsoft cloud security technologies and services, including Azure IaaS and Microsoft 365, and core Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory and Exchange
  • Mastery level of the following: Microsoft Defender, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Purview (aka Compliance Manager/Security Center), Azure Active Directory security and identity blade services (PIM, CAA, CA, MFA)
  • An insatiable curiosity to learn more about new Microsoft technologies and our customer's business
  • Advanced business acumen with the ability to understand the ins and outs of our customer's challenges
  • Demonstrated excellence at presenting complex technical topics to both executive, technical and business personnel.
  • Exceptional communication and personal skills, both written, verbal and while presenting to groups, including security leadership
  • Proven ability to mentor and train junior level architects
  • Solid understanding of the commercial IT market for hardware and software
  • Strong analytical skills are required
  • Self-managed and motivated individual with strong leadership skill
  • Proven ability to innovate with a history of new or improved technology solutions with remarkable impact on company security
  • Interacts well with diverse groups within function and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators
