BCForward is currently seeking highly motivated System Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina! Role: System Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC - 28202 Expected Contract: 12months Work Type: Hybrid/On-Site

Roles and Responsibilities: A Systems Engineer is needed to improve upon design, development and implementation of an existing Mattermost persistent chat service. Escalation of support requests, incident management and lifecycle management are additional responsibilities which assist operational partners in supporting the user base. A candidate will need to perform as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor.

As the principal engineer, expertise and experience in Unix/Linux, MySQL and on premise Mattermost persistent chat is mandatory.

As the engineer, relationships with the Product Managers, Enterprise DBAs, Operations team, and the vendors will develop and be critical to success.

  • Design, code, test, and deliver software leveraging firm-wide frameworks and best practices for the Service Now platform.
  • Liaison with Operations, Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Vendors and other Enterprise Technology groups to engineer through the product lifecycle, including all fixes, features and enhancements.
  • Align the solutions with bank standards, policies, regulations and architecture.
  • Deployment and management of lower-level environments.
  • Knowledge sharing through documentation, interactive presentations and consulting.
  • Design and guide product testing for releases and business continuity periodic test cycles.
  • Routine participation in status meetings with Product Managers and Operations.
  • Represent as needed for all technical expertise involving the persistent chat services.
  • Engage in project for future and strategic chat services to bridge knowledge and provide direction to the Mattermost user base when transition or migration is required.
  • 3+ years' experience of Enterprise Level Engineering (preferably within financial or other regulated institutions) [Must Have]
  • 3+ years' experience with Mattermost, Linux/Unix and MySQL [Must Have]
  • Microsoft Teams deployment experience [Should have]
  • Experience with mobile application deployment [Should have]
  • Experience with deployment of open-source applications [Should have]
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • A clear and unambiguous communicator in documentation and oral presentation, (methodical, disciplined, confident, critical thinker).
  • Extensive experience in persistent chat platforms (e.g., Mattermost, Symphony, Teams, Slack)
  • Experience with load balancers, database clusters, business continuity, capacity planning, and enterprise security.
  • Experience providing solutions in Mattermost, MySQL, and Linux/Unix OS.
  • Development of administrative scripts to automate procedures (e.g., BOTS, Shell scripts, Webhooks, stored procedures)
  • Proficient in proactively identifying, mitigating and resolving risk.
