Church of the Servant is seeking a nursery caregiver with childcare experience to care for children ages birth to age 5 on Sunday mornings from 8:30am to 12:45pm September through May and 8:30am to 11:45am June through August.
Nursery caregivers are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, warm and caring environment for children, assisting with sign-in/sign-out, being aware of any specific concerns or needs from parents for their children, and facilitating activities with children (birth through age 5) in an indoor and outdoor screen-free play environment. This may include reading books, playing games, taking a small group of kids out to the playground, drawing, assisting children with body care when appropriate, and seeking assistance as needed from church staff or parents. At times there may be no children in the nursery and up to 8 children maximum being cared for by two caregivers.
It is important that there are two caregivers whenever children are present. Therefore advance notice is requested if you are unable to work so that there is adequate time to find a substitute caregiver. A strict phone use policy will be in place for optimal child safety and to establish a practice of screen-free play on campus.
Requirements: Age 21 or older, background check, attendance of orientation session, and an approximately four (4) hour Safe Church training program is required and will be compensated at the hourly rate.
The applicant will be required to provide:
● A resume
● Three references and their contact information (at least one work-related)
● A list of previous places of employment and job duties performed
Desired qualifications and factors:
● 5+ years of similar work experience
● Age groups: infant, toddler, preschool
● Some post-secondary education
● First aid training, CPR training
● Year-long commitment
