Randstad client is seeking a safety expert to work on-site in Eden, NC.

As the subject matter expert on operational processes, the Operational Start-Up Leader will be expected to act as an effective coach for associates and ensure all safety programs are in place at the factory and are in compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines, ie ISO and OSHA.

This position is for at least a year and a half with a major client, great for resume building.

responsibilities:

Lead identification of operational requirements and Safety success criteria development

Support training programs associated with safety and health including "train the trainer" sessions to build associate capabilities.

Identify continuous improvement opportunities in relation to business processes and systems as well as support change management strategies when changes are needed

Collaborate with the operational team to ensure product, equipment, line readiness and safety (Machine Risk Assessments, Site Acceptance Testing, QA/Food Safety Planning)

Ensure the achievement of business objectives i.e., line performance, safety measures and product qualification.

Responsible for ensuring Safety deliverables are completed for the project and new equipment, including factory safety maps, LOTO verification, signage, and evacuation maps.

Responsible for implementing systems, procedures, and work practices to ensure "audit ready" state of compliance. Develop and implement processes and procedures (SOP's) to ensure Site

compliance with company and regulatory agency policies, including federal, state and local legislation and regulations pertaining to Safety and Health.

Routinely walk the Capital Projects, Contractor work sites, and maintenance being performed to ensure safety compliance per OSHA regulations. Evaluate compliance with PPE requirements, check on contractor training and review safety paperwork (hot work permits, confined space permits, daily checklists, etc.). Act as Safety Liaison to Engineering and Maintenance to track and follow up on completion of New Equipment Checklists and support the site Safety Initiatives associated with contractors (Pre-qualification, BBS, Toolbox Talks, Meetings, etc.)

Provides Safety and Health functional and technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function. Partners with other key functions on initiatives including Engineering, HR, Quality, Operations, NCE, etc. to deliver on goals and plans.

Supports the effective implementation and utilization of risk assessment and risk prediction processes to ensure effective identification, communication and mitigation of workplace hazards. Ensures investigation of all work related incidents utilizing NCE tools to drive to root cause and identification of actions to prevent recurrence. Ensures all actions to prevent recurrence are effectively implemented. Ensures safety inspections and observations are conducted and make recommendation for safety improvements throughout the plant.
