Our Enterprise Infrastructure Performance Engineering team research’s new technologies and methodologies in the market in regard to performance testing that will ensure Fidelity’s platforms are performing at the highest level possible.How big is your team?We are a very large team overall with over 75 team membersIs your team co-located?Yes, in NC and MMK(For Dev/Engineering roles) What is the tech stack on the team?#1 Akamai CloudTest (but experience with LoadRunner/JMeter would be acceptable). We use this testing platform to monitor and analyst cloud performance tests.#2 Node, Apache/Envoy, and Java are what most of the apps are written in so experience with performance testing against those in AWS would be ideal.#3 Jenkins (this is for pipeline & automation skills)What project will this role focus on and how does this project impact the organization?This position will be part of our US PI Performance Engineering team.What stage of the project are you currently in?This is ongoingIf I were a candidate, what would get me excited about this position (what are the selling points)?Our team is constantly adapting new industry standards and pushing the boundaries in the performance engineering and chaos engineering disciplines. It’s an exciting time to be a part of leading industry field and we present a great opportunity for a candidate to join an elite team within the organization.Performance EngineerThe team is seeking a highly skilled engineer to work with the latest performance/chaos testing tools and technologies to help ensure industry leading applications are impactful, stable, resilient and can scale to meet the needs of the business. The successful candidate for this position will become part of a best-in-class engineering team that has a reputation for pushing the boundaries in the performance and chaos engineering fields.The responsibilities for this position include:• Designing performance and chaos engineering strategies• Monitoring and analyzing performance metrics and application logs• Preparing and optimally communicating test results to Director level management• Triaging defects with development/architecture partners and project teams• Partnering with development/architecture teams to identify defect tuning recommendations• Ensuring timely escalation of critical issues to development and performance engineering teams• Coordinating activities of off-shore engineers as/when requiredThe Expertise and Skills You Bring• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field• 5-8+ years of experience in the Information Technology field• 5+ years of experience in software performance testing against large scale end-to-end platforms• Experience in software performance testing tools (e.g. LoadRunner, CloudTest, JMeter, etc.)• Outstanding organizational, analytical, collaboration, and communication skills• Strong motivation to decompose complex systems and understand how they work• Advanced application memory consumption analysis skills• Working knowledge of application server technologies such as Tomcat, Node, or Apache• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tool experience is highly desired• AWS experience is highly desired• Automation experience is a plus• Chaos Engineering experience is a plus
