Personal Care Assistant for Disabled Adult

I’m a 35 yr old professional looking for a reliable, responsible, caring, and physically fit person to assist me in the afternoons and evenings with my personal care needs. I use a power wheelchair and require help with activities of daily living, transportation, and light housekeeping. This is an excellent work opportunity for anyone interested in a career in nursing, PT, and OT. I’m a personable and active recent grad school graduate and former college teacher. My occupation is in the field of adaptive technology research.

Duties include:

Assisting me with ADLs inside and outside my home

Driving me in a wheelchair-accessible minivan

Using a ceiling lift to transfer me to and from my wheelchair

Performing light housekeeping

Preference given to applicants who have:

Experience working closely with persons with a neuromuscular disease

Experience in a home-healthcare environment

A successful applicant will:

Have excellent English communication skills.

Be a non-smoker/non-vaper.

Be able to follow a strict rule of no odors, perfumes, or scented body or laundry products. This is a scent-free workplace.

Have own transportation.
