Personal Companion for Neurodivergent, Outdoorsy 26/yo

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a companion role, not a caregiver position. Seeking someone to share activities and provide social support. No medical tasks or supervision required. Looking for a peer-oriented relationship based on mutual respect. The ideal candidate will support my independence, not manage or direct my choices.

SCHEDULE:

Flexible on number of hours and specific days but prefer a set routine with possible additional hours by mutual availability. Estimated 20-30 hours/week. Mainly daytime hours.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED

Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Reliable transportation to and from the work site in East Asheville (not convenient to bus line)

Ability to pass background check

First aid/CPR cert

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Some college/post-secondary life experience

Interest in: hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, swimming, yoga, strength training, and/or whitewater

Intellectual and/or nerdy interests

Willingness to travel overnight occasionally

Compensation is $25/hour. This is W-4 employment with taxes and worker's compensation withheld.
