Job Summary
This position, under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists in the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, and delivery of medications and other pharmaceutical products to Frye Regional Medical Center patients in a timely and accurate fashion and in accordance with established regulations and procedures.COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.Essential Functions
Assists pharmacist(s) in filling medication orders
Preparing medications and supplies for dispensing, including:
o Repackaging bulk medications
o Compounding ointments and creams, oral solutions, and other medications
Delivers medications to patient care areas and retrieves pharmacy related items
Accurately restocks automated dispensing cabinets according to inventory levels
Charges and credits patient profiles for medications used or returned to the pharmacy
Assists with inventory management by stocking fluids and medications on shelves
Inspects assigned out of date sections and/or nursing units or operating rooms on a monthly basis
Answering phone calls and handling questions that do not require pharmacist expertise or judgment and routing calls to the appropriate party as necessary
Maintains compliance and understanding of Compounding Sterile Products Policy and USP
Prepares IVs, PCAs, Epidurals in accordance with CSP Policy and USP
Assists with training and orientation of new teammates to department workflow and proceduresWhy join our team?

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Licenses/Certifications
Current certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
Registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP) within 30 days of hire
