About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a platform architect who will be responsible for designing, building, and enabling a scalable and secure container platform focused on Kubernetes.In this role, you will:

Lead the implementation of complex projects and initiatives that have companywide scope

Assist in the creation of architectural artifacts for key technology initiatives

Participate in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy

Identify medium to high architectural impact projects

Conduct complex technology and system assessments for architecture solutions

Communicate the companywide Architecture strategy and direction to both management and systems related teams

Make decisions in the development and maintenance of architectures

Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas

Ensure applications adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies and industry best practices

Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Architect, design, and implement a scalable, secure, and resilient container platform based on Kubernetes to support the bank's mission critical applications.

Collaborate with application development, DevOps, cloud, and security teams to define and implement containerization strategies that align with business objectives.

Partner with engineering to lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of Kubernetes clusters across both public and private cloud environments.

Implement container orchestration best practices, including automated scaling, self-healing, and zero-downtime deployments.

Design and manage continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for containerized applications.

Ensure robust platform security by implementing role-based access controls (RBAC), encryption, network policies, and other security best practices within Kubernetes environments.

Architect and drive adoption of monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.

Guide the migration of legacy applications to a containerized environment, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams, helping to build expertise in containerization and Kubernetes technologies while staying up to date on emerging container best practices.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Systems Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

4+ years of experience focused on containerization and Kubernetes architecture, including experience designing, deploying, and managing production-grade Kubernetes clusters.

3+ years of hands-on experience deploying containers into managed Kubernetes environments such as Azure AKS, AWS EKS, or GCP GKE.

2+ years of securing containers and Kubernetes environments including RBAC, network policies, and secrets management.

2+ years working with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and infrastructure as code for Kubernetes and container deployments.

Desired Qualifications:

Kubernetes Certified Application Developer (CKAD) or Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA)

GCP/Azure Architect/Developer certifications to demonstrate familiarity and experience with cloud environments.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog for container environments.

Strong understanding of microservices architecture, networking, and service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).

Experience working in regulated industries, particularly finance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
