Process Engineer

Broad Function and Purpose of Position: The Process Engineer designs, implements, and optimizes industrial processes to improve efficiency, product quality, and safety in manufacturing or production environments for all new and existing products in the facility. The goal is to achieve high quality standards at lowest cost, utilizing available resources (raw materials, equipment, and personnel). These improvements will be achieved through process definition, innovation, cross functional work, and cooperation with all levels of the organization. Specific Responsibilities:Work with local experts to determine “best practices” and document those practices and procedures.Improve production, quality, and material handling efficiency through the design of process definition, optimization and controls.Monitoring and optimizing equipment performance and reliability and reduce downtime.Identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for process optimization.Reduce production complexity.Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Implement strategy, processes and activities related to capital budgeting and plan implementation.Recommend equipment improvements by providing specifications and/or requirements and controlling these recommendations through to completion.Determine and improve process capabilities by using statistical techniques to meet or exceed customer needs.Create, update, and implement plant procedures, electronic recipes, work instructions and train employees, as necessary. Develop in-process tests and requirements.Troubleshoot problems and establish root cause analysis to develop the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.Leader or key member of project and process teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Maintenance, Controls, Quality Assurance, and production staffMay perform other projects or assignments as required.
