 Job Description: PlannerOverview:The Production Planner plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor at the end item and LRU/sub-assembly level in order to achieve balanced work flow, internal financial goals, and customer delivery dates.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIESCreates and manages the Master Production Schedule and associated sub-level production schedules.Monitor MRP signals for manufactured items and ensure prompt action.On-time review of Planned Orders due for release.On-time release of production orders not held up due to shortages.Monitor and report on aging of Production Orders in WIP.Monitor and report shortage quantities affecting WIP and Production Order Release.Monitor and report SRU and LRU on time completions.Support daily shortage and other manufacturing coordination meetings.Monitor issues of material to WIP.Ensure paperwork accuracy of Production Orders prior to release for kitting activity.Maintenance of open Production Orders as required.Support periodic WIP floor audits, including reconciliation.Support warehouse inventory accuracy counts, including reconciliation.Participate in Process Improvement activities.Works on complex “developmental” and “transition to production” programs and other projectsHas strong knowledge of MRP and understands its relationship with most facets of the business.Releases all orders, manages all exceptions, and uses multi-level pegging to resolve requirement issues from the ERP workbench.Prioritizes multiple items through inspection and internal suppliers. Coordinates resources to expedite competing priorities.Identifies the need for an inventory replenishment program and works with a manufacturing team and supplier(s) to establish the right type of replenishment strategy.Assists in the establishment of project goals, milestones, and procedures; defines roles and responsibilities; acquires project resources; monitors project progress; manages multiple projects.Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.Cooperates with coworkers and helps team leader meet goals. Shares information and ideas with the team. Treats others with respect and supports their ideas, listens to others ideas, asks questions, encourages others to exchange or support their ideas. Meets all team deadlines and responsibilities.Understands multi-level BOMs and effects of changes.Creates complex reports in support of programs and present to leadership team as required.Understands the impacts of applicable regulations on supported program(s), including RoHs, Reach, FAA, FDA, FAR/DFAR, and ITAR.Participates in MRB meetings.
