Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides leadership by coordinating management activities and care delivery for a patient care unit. Supervises assigned employees and oversees area daily operations, programs, and activities consistent with department leadership's direction. Exercises management responsibilities through problem solving collaboration as delegated by nursing unit manager. Material Data Set (MDS) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the timely completion of the MDS and care plan. Instrumental in orientation and continuing education regarding the MDS and care plan for all team members. Coordinates with residents/patients, family members, direct care staff, specialized therapies/services, and physicians as indicated, to facilitate individualized care for each resident/patient. Knowledgeable in the procedures for initiation of level of care changes. Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each resident/patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 15 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Bachelors Degree

Located between the towns of Highlands and Cashiers, the hospital offers 24/7 emergency care, acute inpatient care, rehabilitation, as well as long-term care through Eckerd Living Center. Ambulatory services are also available, including therapy services and primary care. Highlands-Cashiers Hospital has more than 24 beds for acute care services and 80+ beds in the Eckerd Living Center.
